If you’ve ever shopped around for welding clamps, you know they can get pretty pricey. But there’s a simple, affordable solution to get quality clamps without the cost. I made my own clamps from glue clamps and 16mm bolts, and they work just as well as store-bought ones. Plus, they’re easy to make!
How I Made Them
The idea is straightforward. I took some glue clamps, which are pretty cheap and easy to find, cut off the top, and welded the clamp heads onto a 16mm bolt that fits perfectly into the holes of my perforated welding table. The result? Sturdy, reliable clamps that hold down my workpieces without breaking the bank. Why These Clamps Are a Game-Changer
- Cost-Effective: Custom welding clamps can get expensive, especially when you need multiple. By making my own, I’m able to get the same performance for a fraction of the cost.
- Custom Fit: These clamps are made to fit my table exactly, so there’s no guesswork on size or functionality.
- Simple to Make: If you’re comfortable with basic welding, this project is a breeze. Just grab some glue clamps and 16mm bolts, and you’re ready to go.
